Comments: My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed the concert by Orchestra North East.

I thought I knew most of the pieces quite well, but I had forgotten just how much more rich and enjoyable music can be when performed live, especially in a venue like Hall One of The Sage Gateshead.

-> Grieg's Peer Gynt suite by turns had me soothed, melancholic, toe-tapping and grinning with excitement. What other piece of music provides as much pace, energy and mischevious fun as "In the Hall of The Mountain King"?

-> Mozart's Horn Concerto was truly fantastic, with an awesome solo perfomance by Peter Francomb,

-> Tchaikovsky's Synphony No 5, with its shifting moods, military drama, and glorious noisy crescendos, was a fitting finale to a brilliant evening.

The members of the orchestra clearly enjoyed the concert as much as we did, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and we all left The Sage Gateshead thinking that the concert had provided a really wonderful, exhilarating finish to our weekend. We will definitely be coming to see Orchestra North East again!

Comments: Just to let you know how much we enjoyed the concert. My mother actually remarked that the first half was the best one of the 3 we have been to, the music being both familiar and uplifting. I myself left feeling very relaxed and chilled, after a very busy week.
